It’s not only more efficient than a horizontal turbine, particularly for use on low towers, shorelines, roof tops and crowded urban areas, but it’s also virtually silent. The DS 300 wind turbine combined with a solar panel can generate 300 watts of wind power and 85 to 125 watts of solar power. This power is then used to support a 24 to 36 watt LED light. Each LED light lasts up to 50,000 hours and is supplied with a 5 year warranty. This lighting system is also comprised of two silicone gel cell batteries that run efficiently for 3 to 5 years on average. Due to its unique and efficient design, the vertical axis wind turbine and solar panel can last over 20 years with minimum maintenance.
